In recent years researchers world-wide have become more and more interested in what actually supports primary children’s foreign language learning under real-classroom conditions. Across Europe, a number of empirical classroom-based studies are now available. The often surprising results may help us to understand the kind of support that children need in their learning of a foreign language.
